Attention all Contestants! The deadline for entry is January 11th, 2010 so be sure to enter by then! You can either download the entry forms and rules by clicking on the left, or You can pick them up either at Keith's Longhorn BBQ on Ancha de San Antonio or at Hotel Casa Linda at Mesones # 101. The cook-off will consist of two main categories of competition: the "International Competition" for those who wish to participate in the CASI-sanctioned International Open Championship Chili Cook-Off, and the "Open Competition," which will include contests for Peoples' Choice for Best Chili, Best Charro Beans, Best Margarita, and Best Booth! So dig out your recipes, gather your ingredients, find some decorations, and get ready for some really HOT competition! The CASI International Competition
 Get away from the cold and come enjoy a taste of sunny Mexico! San Miguel de Allende is known across Mexico as the town where the fiestas never stop, and the annual international chili cook-off is one of our best! This year, for the first time, our cook-off is CASI-sanctioned as an official International Open Championship. 1st, 2d and 3rd place winners will be invited to enter the CASI World Championship at Terlingua, Texas, November 2010, and 4th-10th place will receive points toward qualification for Terlingua. Entrants in our CASI cook-off can also sign up to enter our Open Contests, which include the "Peoples' Choice for Best Chili" contest, the “Best Charro Beans” contest, to be judged by a separate panel of distinguished International chefs and cuisine experts, and the “Best Margarita” contest. Prizes for the Open Contests are fantastic. Check it out below! Over 2,000 people attended last year’s Cook-Off and the 2010 Cook-Off promises to be our best yet. The event includes amazing rodeo ring events including a “ballet on horses” presentation, and demonstrations and photo sessions by the Charros del Santuario de Atotonilco. And, as always, we will also have great live music all day. Get your CASI entry form in by January 8, 2009 if you want to be assured a burner and a tent.  The 1st place prize for the Peoples' Choice for Best Chili contest will be 5 nights (for 2 people) in the exclusive Vintage Club resort in Palm Springs, California! The nights are offered for any time in November or December, 2010, and the prize includes free round-trip airfare from any location in Mexico or the United States, provided by our official airline, American Airlines.  Rules for Best Margarita Do you make a mean margarita? We want to taste it! If you are entering the chili or bean contests, you are eligible to enter the margarita contest too! Judging is based on taste and presentation, which makes it one of our favorite events! The winner will receive a case of tequila and dinner for two at the exquisite El Campanario restaurant! Best Booth  Bring added fun to the event by decorating your booth in a fun and festive way! All booths, both in the "International" and "Open" competitions, will be automatically entered in the contest. The winner will receive dinner for two (including a bottle of wine) at the Sunset Bar at Hotel Casa Linda! |
