4th Annual San Miguel International Chili Cook-Off

Saturday, January 30, 2010, 12pm-5pm, Hotel Real de Minas

The 4th Annual San Miguel International Chili Cook-Off will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the grounds behind the Hotel Real de Minas. All proceeds benefit the Centro de Crecimiento, a unique center for the rehabilitation, education & training of children with disabilities.

This year's event promises to be our best yet! Along with the CASI-sanctioned International Chili Cook-Off, we will have an Open Competition, which will include the Peoples' Choice for Best Chili contest, the Best Charro Beans contest, to be judged by a panel of distinguished International chefs and cuisine experts, and the Best Margarita contest. We will also award a prize for the Best Booth! Click on the Contestant Information tab above to learn more! In an attempt to super-size the fun, we've re-designed the tent layout so that everything will be easier to find. And, in addition to all the red-hot chili-tasting, this year we have selected a handful of local restaurants to sell delicious, inexpensive food items so you won't leave hungry! We will have live music all day, an auction for great products and services, and as always, the beautiful dancing horses from Dolores Hidalgo and the Charros del Santuario de Atotonilco will perform in the rodeo ring!

We're giving away fabulous prizes this year. The first place prize for the Peoples' Choice for Best Chili contest will be 5 nights in an exclusive country club resort in Palm Springs, California with free airfare from any destination in Mexico or the United States provided by our official airline, American Airlines. The first place prize for the Best Charro Beans contest will be 4 nights in a gorgeous beach-front house on Playa Ropa in beautiful Zihuatanejo!
